Global Profile of Automation Engineering Technology Study Program

Automation Engineering Technology Study Program (TRO) of the Diponegoro University Vocational School is a vocational education program focused on developing competencies in industrial automation systems, robotics, control systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and smart manufacturing technologies that support modern industrial transformation.

The advancement of Industry 4.0 and industrial digitalization has significantly increased the demand for professionals capable of integrating automation technologies, control systems, sensors, robotics, and digital technologies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and industrial competitiveness. The TRO Study Program is designed to produce graduates equipped with strong technical competencies, analytical capabilities, and innovative skills that meet the needs of future industries.

Through a practice-oriented curriculum, applied projects, industrial laboratories, professional certification programs, and collaboration with various industrial partners, students gain expertise in control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), industrial robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), instrumentation systems, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing systems, and automation technology integration.

As part of the Vocational Excellence initiative, the TRO Study Program integrates academic learning with professional experience through the Integrated Teaching Factory Ecosystem developed by the Diponegoro University Vocational School.

Students gain hands-on learning experiences through the Automation and Robotic Development Center (ARDC), a Teaching Factory that serves as a center for industrial automation, robotics, control systems, and smart manufacturing technology development. Through ARDC, students not only learn about emerging technologies but also participate in developing automation solutions that can be directly implemented in industrial environments.

ARDC also serves as a collaborative platform connecting students, faculty members, industry practitioners, and strategic partners in developing innovations based on automation and robotics technologies. Through various applied projects and industrial collaborations, students acquire professional experience that aligns with current workforce demands.

The TRO Study Program places Industry Collaboration as one of its key educational development pillars. Partnerships with manufacturing companies, technology enterprises, energy sectors, process industries, and other industrial stakeholders provide students with valuable opportunities to understand real-world industrial challenges and requirements.

In addition to technical competency development, the TRO Study Program promotes Global Employability through professional communication training, digital literacy enhancement, competency certification, and an understanding of international technology standards. These competencies prepare graduates to adapt and contribute effectively in both national and international industrial environments.

As part of the UNDIP Vocational Excellence Ecosystem 2030, the TRO Study Program is committed to producing competent, professional, innovative, and ethical graduates who contribute to industrial transformation toward smarter, more efficient, and sustainable production systems.

Guided by the spirit of “From Vocational Excellence to Global Recognition,” the Automation Engineering Technology Study Program continuously contributes to the vision of the Diponegoro University Vocational School in becoming a World-Class Vocational School by 2030, while delivering technological innovations and solutions that create added value for industry, society, and sustainable development.
